I hate how the media has to portray everything in a bad and crappy way and how it always puts things out of context. The fact that they can't simply warn the White House about split screens is ridiculous. But I guess that's the way the media is.
I think, for some, pictures might sway opinion, but mainly people keep whatever opinion they originally had. Pictures of coffins don't really make me suddenly have an opinion about the war that it should stop. But I also think those pictures shouldn't be banned. We don't need to be controlled and conditioned. We should be able to show what pictures we want.
About the public or private matter: Although the return of a body may be better kept personal, deaths seem generally public to me, especially when it is through war.
